Debra Ann Banks, a native of Charleston, SC, passed away on January 6th, 2024, in Dover, DE. Born to the late Leroy Sr., and Carolyn Banks, Debra graduated from McClendon High School in Florence, SC. Debra was a loving mother, daughter, sister, friend, and caregiver to all who needed her. She was baptized at an early age at the Promised Land Baptist Church at 8-mile in North Charleston, SC. She retired from LabCorp in 2005, where she worked as a phlebotomist and manager for over two decades.
Debra is survived by her son, Jonte (Rebecca) Banks; two sisters, Cora Banks and Sheryl Pendergrass; and six brothers Richard Clinton, Leroy Banks, Jr., Anthony Banks, Rev. Allen (Minister Linda) Banks Sr., Marvin (LaRhonda) Banks, and Charles Banks; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Debra was affectionately known as “Auntie Granny” by several nieces and nephews. Debra is also survived by a host of countless friends.
