Daniel Matthew Edwards Sr.

Daniel Edwards, Sr. was born on June 22, 1941 to the late Deacon Matthew Edwards and the late Richardean Edwards in Charleston, South Carolina.  He received his primary and secondary education from Charleston County Public Schools.

In 1963, Daniel married Claudette Givens.  They were blessed with three children: Daniel Jr., Marcus and Avril. Daniel was also blessed with a bonus son from Claudette, Theodore Givens.

Daniel was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years.  He dedicated his time and energy to Delta Airlines as a Baggage Handler.  Then, he later worked at Sentry Buick as a Car Detailer where he served his customers faithfully.

He was preceded in death by his parents Matthew and Richardean Edwards, his sister, Ernestine Whitten, his bonus son, Theodore Givens and grandson, Donnell Edwards.

Daniel leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Daniel, Sr, Marcus, and Avril; siblings, Elizabeth Maxwell and John Scott Edwards; grandchildren, Letiesha, Dana (Rinee), Destini, Daniel III, A’Kara, Alante’, Amari, Jeremiah, A’Junae and John; great-grandchildren, Dallas and Da’Neyah
