Yvette "Penny" Young

Miss Yvette Arene Young affectionally known as “Penny” was born on April 4, 1965, to the late Ransom Young Sr. and Fannie Robertson-Young in Rembert, South Carolina she departed this earthly life on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston. Yvette received her education in the public schools of Sumter County and was a 1984 graduate of Hillcrest High School.  Yvette was baptized at an early age and became a member of Rafting Creek Baptist Church. Yvette was known to have a quiet and easy spirit with a beautiful radiant smile that was shown whenever you met her. Yvette was employed at Springdale Hall Restaurant and Club Camden, SC for seventeen years and Wal-Mart of Camden for nine years. Yvette was also an in-home caregiver to many over the years.

Yvette leaves behind to cherish her loving memories of two sons, Mr. Alex Young (Miranda N. Young) and Mr. Jayden Crim. Two grandsons Alex Jr. and Antonio Young of Florence, South Carolina. Three sisters Miss Rebecca Young, Her twin sister Mrs. Yvonne Young-Crim (Robert Crim Sr.), and Miss Krystle Wade all of Rembert, South Carolina. Two brothers Mr. Rocky Young of Rembert, South Carolina, and Mr. William Robertson-Young (Loraine Robertson-Young) of Sumter, South Carolina. A sister-in-law Mrs. Emma Young of Philadelphia, PA, and a brother-in-law Mr. Eddie Crim (Ellen Crim-Decease) of Rembert, South Carolina. Five aunts Mrs. Martha K. Young of Rembert, SC. Mrs. Lula Mae Robertson, Mrs. Brenda Robertson, Mrs. Hazelyn Robertson, Mrs. Ann Robertson, Mrs. Vivian Robertson, and one Uncle Mr. Hampton Robertson all of Charlotte, North Carolina.

 Yvette was a second mother to her nieces and nephews Bridget, Cameron, Caleb, Tejah, Tielyn, Robert Jr., Elizabeth, Maya, Jamir, Sabrina, Scott, Chelsea, Christopher, Caleb, Johnathan, Charlene, Paulette and Sam.

A host of favorite nieces and nephews Annie Simon, Lueseel Miller, Molly Wright, Dana Martin, Patricia Wilson, Doretha Adams, Shelia Spencer, Jessie Horne, Machel Taylor, Judy, Carla, Bridget and Angie Watts, Delia Singleton. Nephews Hillard Workman, Bobby Watts, Matthew Young, Bobby, Robert, Sammie Lee, and Booker T. Young. Special Cousins Martha and David Kendrick, Mary Skinner, Ora Spann, Sallie Alston, Fannie Wilson, and Jefferson Grant. A Great host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Yvette was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters Ms Corine Y. Watts, Lue Ellen Y. Spencer, Iola Lee Robertson, and Ellen Y. Crim; Five brothers, Mr.Willie Robertson, Mr. Booker T. Ransom, Sr., Joesph, and William Young.
